Sunday DIY: Ikea Malm Bed Frame Hack

image.jpg

Why we did it?

It's Sunday, and we decided to do a DIY.  As much as I love the digital world, it was nice spending the afternoon working with my hands to feel and appreciate manual labor.

Make it exactly the way you want for less than $30:

Total cost was less than $30 since we already had the IKEA Malm frame. The paint was around $30.

There's nothing like furniture that you already have that you can customize to exactly what you want.

You can do this today.

How you can paint your own furniture:

1. Buy the paint.

2. Use a wet towel and wipe down the furniture of choice.

3. Mix the paint and pour into a tray.

4. Start painting. Give 30 mins in between coats.

5. Allow 2 hrs to cure and you should be good to go.

Good luck!

Quite honestly I feel it looks even better in person. The texture is as matte as it gets, and it has an effect on the room and your eyes.
