Your Life is the Message - Interstellar Review
My personal memoir on how Interstellar affected my life.. By the way, the soundtrack is great to listen to while you work.
What is Interstellar?
Interstellar is a Christopher Nolan film released on November 5, 2014 at a budget of $165 million and grossed $650 million in the box office.
The setting is in the future, where earth is losing its natural resources to sustain human life so the crew of astronauts travel through a wormhole to find a new home for humans.
Why Interstellar in the first place?
I don't watch very many movies -- and too many movies lack deep substance and focus more about shock and awe. However when I do watch movies, I want something that I can apply to my life immediately. For example, my favorite movie is Pursuit of Happyness (YouTube trailer) with Will Smith. Check out the trailer for more.
"If you want something, go get it" - Will Smith, Pursuit of Happiness.
3 Things I learned from Interstellar that can be applied in your life:
- One thing: If you focus on one thing, your long-term goal, in the end you will arrive to your desired outcome.
- Evolve or dissolve.: Learn to adapt in your current situation and be resourceful with what you have. Your personal financial, health, or relationships are constantly changing due to events and circumstances in your life. You are in control of the response.
- You are the "ghost" of your children: Your example is what your children will follow. They become what you leave behind.
