With so much focus on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, data showing that user engagement is moving to more private or personal platforms.

According to a recent Radium One study, 59% of all online sharing is via "dark social"...which are apps like WhatsApp, Snapchat, Wechat, and Viber.

Another stat that is surprising but makes sense at the same time is that 91% of Americans regularly share information via dark social methods.

This study also showed that 72% of sharing is simply users copying and pasting links and directly emailing or texting information.
