Visionary Mondays #1: Visionary leadership with Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg

You've heard the analogy: Life is a marathon, not a sprint.

But I believe life is more about consistent, long-term focus. It is about making the decision to run a marathon and then preparing, running, recovering and repeating the cycles many times over..

Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years.
— Bill Gates

You may feel the need to 'get money' now and compromise on your long-term principles. You know, compromising your time for what is trendy right now to make short-term money.

However, going long-term on a 'grand vision' and sticking to solving your customers #1 problem and pain, and focusing on the 'big dream' will pay for itself many many times over.

Below I share a few quotes from Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos on going long-term.

I’m here to build something for the long-term. Anything else is a distraction.

I know it sounds corny, but I’d love to improve people’s lives, especially socially… Making the world more open is not an overnight thing. It’s a ten-to-fifteen-year thing.
— Mark Zuckerberg

Check out what Jeff Bezos of Amazon has to say about long term vision.
